In a word, Erin Fowler’s EGG is captivating. At once it is both a heartfelt and comedic physical theatre piece that confronts the irreconcilable journey of being a female.
From the moment the audience enters, Fowler’s humour is abundant through her sound and music choices, which this musician enjoyed very much. Her playful and expressive movements became so powerful near the end in both wild and delicate ways, leaving the audience to collectively hold its breath. There were many moments where this reviewer wished she had such elegant limbs to move with the grace that Fowler does!
I highly recommend EGG for the door it opens, revealing the gravity of the choices given, choices made and choices taken away that are a part of every female’s journey. This door provided a space for release for many in the audience, this reviewer included. See EGG for the laughs, great music and the well-crafted performance on a topic that should be more openly discussed.
